Get a view of royal London from Wellington Arch

While taking in the sights and sounds of London a visit to Wellington Arch may be well worth a visit for tourists to the city.

Standing proudly at Hyde Park Corner in the Heart of royal London, the impressive landmark is instantly recognisable from the spectacular bronze sculpture of the angel of peace descending on the chariot of war which graces its top.

Originally commissioned by George IV as a grand entrance to Buckingham Palace, the arch was completed in 1830 and moved to its current home in 1882.

Now, it is open to visitors and gives them the opportunity to take a lift to balconies just below the sculpture and experience excellent views of the Royal Parks and Houses of Parliament.

There is also a viewing gallery and three floors of exhibits inside the arch.

Nearby is Aspley House, which is also worth a visit and may have one of the most notable addresses in the capital – No. 1 London.
